Here are the 11 youngsters Xavi has called up for preseason, according to Javier Miguel.
Goalkeepers: Diego Kochen.
Defenders: Mikayil Faye, Chadi Riad.
Midfielders: Marc Casado, Pau Prim, Unai Hernandez, Fermin Lopez.
Forwards: Lamine Yamal, Angel Alarcon, Estanis Pedrola, Marc Guiu.
The ones to follow closely are Lamine Yamal and Mikayil Faye. The former impressed in the final stretch of last season, even making his first-team debut at just 15 years of age. The latter is a new signing – Senegalese centre-back who could grow into a massive player in a few years.
There are even more interesting players on the list. Chadi Riad is another big centre-back talent who is already called up to Morocco's senior national team. Marc Casado and Pau Prim are the standout talents among defensive midfielders.
All these players - except for Angel Alarcon who's recovering from his serious injury (he is called up to do some medical checkups) are likely to receive some game time in Barca's upcoming friendlies.
