yes .... Alvarez was that good,I had liked him from his days in Argentine League , you needed to see him play in the Argentine League, he played fearlessly and very deadly in front of goal....if me that is not a scout could love that guy back then before man city signed him, then Barca scouts and technical teams needs to do better when it comes to decision like this......I would take Alvarez over ferran either then or now

my only take on this is that the management were just too conscious of making another mistake the felt getting a Spanish play one the has played in the league before ( and the fact that guardiola bought him) could mean that he is good but the forgot that he got to England and became a flop a flop a 55m was too much a risk for the club that is in a financial mess when there a player that is in form in a south America A league Argentine league for that matter to serious if we had gone for Alvarez and he is presently messing up like this would be been better cos much was not invested now we can't even get a good prize for him

Adeola, do you know that Argentina league is not Europe and that players that was brought from that far are at owner's risk?

They have no experience and that is the main issue. Ferran was good under Pep, and in the national team that time and he was playing in his preferred position but here at Barca Xavi doesn't give them that courage, push and preferences of playing your preferred position.
The Ferran that i know is not a bad player or as bad as you guys tagged him. At a point he was better than Vinicius and tomorrow he might be world class because he has what it takes to be there. We should not kill his courage or zeal to explore to greatness. He needs support please, not discouragement.

the time Barça signed ferran, the guy is doing well at city, thought he is not a regular, however, alvarez was doing good as a starter back in argentina, the guy even won copa lebitanos....Barça were looking for someone who understands spanish football and they saw that in ferran, so the decision is okay no doubt. ferran is a great player but seriously he is not a Barça standard, I just hope he either got sold or loaned out, cox if he is there, his presence will affect the development of yamal.....I stand to be corrected
