Who paid more: Madrid for Endrick or Barca for Vitor Roque? Answered

Over the past eight months, Barcelona and Real Madrid have both been working on signing two of the hottest Brazilian teenage strikers in the market — Endrick and Vitor Roque.

Real Madrid struck first and announced the signing of 16-year-old Endrick Felipe from Palmeiras in December.

Fast forward to July, Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranaense.

The question is, who paid more for their Brazilian gem?

According to sources, Barcelona may eventually pay more for the transfer of Roque than Real Madrid will for Endrick.

"Without doubt, [Roque] it's the biggest transfer in the history of the continent. It's €74m and surpasses the transfer of Endrick [to Real Madrid] which was worth €72m," Roque's agent André Cury was quoted on ESPN Brazil.

It must be noted that the figure being quoted is the cumulative cost of the transfer if all performance-related add-ons are met by the players.

Official records show that Barcelona will only pay €30m for the signature of Roque whereas Real Madrid paid an initial €37.5m for Endrick.

Regardless of who paid more to sign these youngsters, the real value of the transfer will be known when we access how well they perform at their respective clubs in the coming years.
