Top source reveals 'little money' Barca paid to sign Romeu

In their statement after confirming the signing of Oriol Romeu, Barcelona said they have signed the player until 2026 and have slapped a €400m buyout clause on his contract.

However, it's no secret that Pablo Torre's loan move to Girona was part of the negotiations that brought Romeu back to his boyhood club.

According to Diario Sport's David Bernanbeu, Barca paid just a little money to sign Romeu. The final fee was €3.4m.

Girona wanted Barca to pay Romeu's €10m release clause but after Torre was included in the deal their asking price dropped remarkably.

The 31-year-old midfielder has been included in Barca's squad heading to the United States for pre-season.
