Barcelona insert 'fear clause' in Pablo Torre loan deal

Barcelona have inserted what is known as the 'fear clause' on the loan deal that takes Pablo Torre to Girona, according to Xavi Campos of TV3.

The clause simply prevents a Barca player on loan from playing against Barcelona if they are to meet during the season.

Barcelona also included a hefty monetary compensation of between €200,000 and €300,000 that Girona must pay if they were to play the young midfielder against Barca.

Barca did not use the fear clause until 2022 after Alex Collado was involved in a Gavi sending-off and Granada scored a late goal to tie the game. Xavi was left frustrated that a player still on the books of Barca could so directly affect the club's interests negatively.

Since then, Barca have started inserting the fear clause in the loan deal of their players. Last season, Osasuna would've paid Barca €300,000 if they had fielded Ez Abde in their games against Barca.
