Barcelona have decided to send Julian Araujo to Las Palmas on loan amid their search for a new right-back, as reported by Ferran Martinez of Mundo Deportivo.
Barca have confirmed the decision has already been made and Araujo is expected to head to Las Palmas after Barca's tour of the United States.
"Julian Araujo? A great right back, the whole club speaks well of him. He will be loaned out for this season. It's something we're working on," Barca president Joan Laporta told reporters in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Xavi believes Araujo needs a loan to get regular minutes before returning to Barca to fight for a place in the team.
The Mexican defender arrived at Barca during the last transfer window but was not permitted to play for Barca as La Liga regulation blocked his registration.
Xavi finally got to see him in a match situation when Barca played Vissel Kobe in a friendly. He didn't do badly in that game.
