Barcelona have not registered nine of their senior players in La Liga less than 72 hours before their first league game of the season.
According to fresh reports from sources close to the club, Barcelona will likely register six of those players before the close of business on Friday to allow them to play on Sunday against Getafe.
The players likely to be registered are Ronald Araujo, Ilkay Gundogan, Alejandro Balde, Oriol Romeu, Sergi Roberto and Inaki Pena
Others like Marcos Alonso, Ez Abde and Inigo Martinez will have to wait for Barca to activate some economic levers before they can be registered.
Thus, Xavi may be forced to start the season without some of the players he tested in the preseason.
It remains to be seen which lineup Xavi will eventually put out on matchday 1, considering all the changes he will have to make.
