Ferran Torres: 'Some people wanted to throw me out of Barca'

"No, I didn't speak to Xavi [in the summer]," Ferran Torres has told Mundo Deportivo.

"Of course, I was going to stay at Barca. I have a contract with Barca and I'm going to succeed at Barca because I see myself as capable of doing it.

"I'm not going to mention names or anything, but I think people were throwing me out [of Barca] more than it was actually possible."

Ferran probably refers to some media outlets or certain Barca officials who pushed for his summer exit. Still, it was mostly reported that the player was only eager to stay at the club.

The 23-year-old had a great preseason and started the new campaign in style, scoring 4 goals in 10 appearances for Blaugrana.

Ferran Torres joined Barcelona for €55m in January 2022.
