Iniesta reportedly wanted to sign for INDIAN club in 2023 – they 'responded with a smiley' for one reason

Andres Iniesta's representatives contacted Indian club Mohun Bagan Super Giant after the Spaniard left Japanese side Vissel Kobe, reports The Times of India's Marcus Mergulhao.

However, the club 'responded with a smiley' after the Barca legend asked them for a salary of 8 million dollars per year. That's how the discussion ended.

The 39-year-old eventually signed for UAE side Emirates Club. He's got 2 goals and one assist in 8 appearances for his new team.

As for Mohun Bagan, they are one of the biggest Indian clubs at the moment. They finished 3rd in the top flight last season – and that's where they sit at the moment too.

Iniesta won the Japanese Cup and the Japanese Super Cup since leaving Barcelona in 2018.
