Barcelona are looking into ways to improve their midfield line after being impacted by the departure of Sergio Busquets in the summer.
As per Sport, they have now begun ‘operation pivot’ in the search of signing a new midfielder in 2024.
Barca have set their eyes on Feyenoord midfielder Mats Wieffer, whom they have scouted on multiple occasions in recent months.
They have been impressed with his performances for the Eredivisie side and consider him as a technically gifted, versatile player who can play as a no.6 and a no.8.
With that being said, Wieffer is contracted to Feyenoord until 2027, which could make it tough for Barca to sign him on cheap.
The 24-year-old has made 16 appearances for the Dutch side so far this season, scoring two goals and providing an assist.
