Barcelona confirm serious Gavi injury, recovery time revealed

Barcelona have officially confirmed our biggest fears about Gavi's injury. The midfielder has torn his ACL and could be ruled out for up to seven months.

A club statement reads: "Following test carried out on Monday morning on the first team player Gavi have shown that he has a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and an associated injury to the lateral meniscus. The player will have surgery in the coming days after which a new medical update will be released."

The 19-year-old suffered an injury during Spain's Euro qualifier against Georgia, being forced off the pitch 20 minutes into the game.
