'We're destroyed': Spain boss washes his hands off any blame for Gavi injury

 has seemingly absolved himself and his coaching crew from any blame regarding the season-ending injury suffered by 

“We're destroyed, Gavi’s injury is serious and it’s a hard moment for all of us,” De La Fuente said. 

“It was an accident and a misfortune, but Gavi was perfectly fit to play, like everyone else,” he adds. 

It's not a time to trade blame as injury can happen to any player at any time, however, in Gavi's case, 

 could afford to rest him having already secured qualification for the Euros. 

Early reports suggest that Gavi could be out for 7-9 months. That automatically rules him out for the rest of the season and for the Euros in 2024 as well.

I don't know why they blame coaches for such injury.  fatigue didn't lead to the injury, I have the injury and it's why I stopped training for a year now, that part of the body is just the worst for a player, kneel( ACL).. it could have happened to any player anywhere any time. it's just total bad luck on the player as he is enjoying his best season in his young career so far and worst for us Barcelona... it just not good. our most reliable players are getting injured this season more than any season in the last few years. it's crazy to be honest.. so bad... I wish this helps him come back stronger and better and not affect his career instead cause that boy is built differently, greatness and grace follow him everywhere.

Gavi isn't even a starter when Pedri, De Jong are fit.. he comes on mostly as a sub or starts once a while for rotation,  he's been playing lots of minutes now because barca lost de Jong, pedri, was used a left winger cuz we lost raphinha and dembele at that time , if the other players had stayed fit, he wouldn't be used at barca that way, it's much different to that of Spain, there was no need letting him play that match when they had qualified and also had other players on the bench

As I said before, when Pedri and FDJ were fit Gavi still played. Gavi played as winger on the left or sometimes Pedri played on the left whilst Gavi played midfield. What do you think Lewandowski was complaining about before Felix came? He wanted pure wingers to play close to him but Xavi was persistent with four midfielders.

Let’s don’t act like BARCELONA is used to giving the same Gavi rest. Gavi has also been playing heavy minutes on the field since last season consecutively. The only rest he got is when he got his one game suspension. Don’t forget Gavi was even pushed out to play as a hybrid winger making the midfield play with four players, just to make sure he plays. Is that the NT coach fault too?

bro stop this blame game. if a player is fit he is fit. we can only say Gavi is suffering from being too good.. plus that injury could have happened in training or anywhere. it's knee injury, it could have happened to anyone as well. let take emotion away from this and be realistic..

Player can be fit but when you first in the group and playing against Georgia you should get your starters a breather. Gavi is a gem for Spain NT and history have repeated itself here. He was simply overplayed. You can be fit all you want but muscles will give out when you play every single game. The fact is he should have been rested. We can talk about what could have been but facts are facts. He is injured now and I just hope this will serve as a lesson to coaches overplaying youngsters.

Phether, There is some responsibility to share here. This ain't about whether or not the injury was an Accident. It's about Player  Prudence and Player management! Gavi has club duties that require his services week in week out. Now that he is injured, do you suggest we should fold our arms and just cry and hope for frankly u realistic speedy recovery when we know ACL injuries take considerable time.  I repeat there is some blame here. And Spain is the Culprit here!

ok bro, you do realize what you're saying means he shouldn't have been called up for the int duties right? every other player out there has club duties as well not just Gavi.. he could have been injured anywhere anytime on or off the pitch.  ACL isn't caused by tiredness or player over playing.. we are just making that coach the victim.. I won't blame him at all. camavinga is out for a few months, it happened in training, Vino is out, many players there are out, not just Gavi.  except you guys want them to end the damn country matches or best they reduce the amount of matches they play for the countries yearly. but there is nothing we can do about it cause when a player is called up, the moment he accepts that call, there are chances of him being injured out there.. perhaps he had the intentions of taking him out at half time but it happened the way it did bro.  it total bad luck for me.. but if you all think otherwise then fine. who Am I to argue..

Thank you. Literally my point is the fact that coaches know their players and should respect them just as they respect their coaches. Of course Gavi wants to play but the right thing to do was give him rest. You are first in the group, this gives you the opportunity to try different players to establish team chemistry and look for aces when your first team player is not available due to injury or fatigue.

Buddy, can you tell me what holds tendons and ligaments together? As per you muscle fatigue is nothing to consider here. When muscles weak from fatigue the likelihood of injuries are much much higher. You don’t make any sense. No one is attacking the coach. I say fuck him because he made a stupid decision, you are right it could have happened to anyone but it happened to the only guy everyone knew is fatigued.

Need i remind you that Every time a player gets on the pitch, there is a significant risk of injury. 

Gavi has clearly been overused. The Press Guys at Mundo Deportivo have strongly suggested recently that Gavi needs to rest. 

Araujo voiced the same concerns not too long ago. 

Now because of the lack of prudence, we might just have another Pedri on our hands.

Cama, Vini and others being out is evidence that selection for games must be done with utmost prudence especially seeing the kind of harsh football calendar we are faced with!  There is actually something that can be done: It's called being Prudent! You'll expect that of the coach, (maybe not you, but me and others), who knows his onions. Okay look at Pedri: He just returned, should he have been called up in the light of the facts? Barca had better demand that Spain compensate us for the next 1 year Gavi will be out!

Kingsley_, fuck that guy he’d say anything to take off the blame. He can be fit to play but any decent human being would give Gavi some break knowing the amount of games/minutes the guy have played at 19.
