"For ten days we tried to bring Messi to Milan, but then we realised it was impossible," former AC Milan director Paolo Maldini has told PoretCast.
"It is too late now, but a player like Messi is a spectacle for anyone to witness. When I read that he might even go to Inter, I got scared!" the Italian legend added.
Maldini talks about 2021 when Leo Messi was forced to leave Barcelona and find himself a new club in the summer. The Argentine eventually had to join Paris Saint-Germain as all the other interested parties couldn't afford him.
It would've been fun to see Leo play for Milan, a traditional and historic club just like Barca. Stefano Pioli's side reached the Champions League semifinals last season – who knows where they would've been with Messi on their team!
