Frenkie de Jong has been linked with a move to Manchester United for almost two years now, with the midfielder being Erik ten Hag's long-coveted target, thought it doesn't concern the player much, it seems.
Speaking to the Dutch outlet NOS, Frenkie has reassured the media that he is happy where he is now, i.e. at Barcelona.
“I’m at the club I’ve always dreamed of joining. I am very happy at Barca."
"As a footballer you want to win the big prizes, I haven't won them yet. I have not yet won the trophies I want to win here and I am not yet the player I want to be. There is still room for improvement," he said.
When directly questioned about a potential move to the Premier League and whether it could breathe new life into his career, De Jong responded, "Possibly. But I don't think about it much, I feel good here."
The 26-year-old is tied down to a contract at Barca until 2026. During his time at Camp Nou, Frenkie recorded 16 goals and assisted another 21 in 195 appearances for the club. He's one of the four team captains now.
