Barca linked with Luis Enrique comeback: 2 ways how they could line up under treble-winning coach

Gerard Romero claims Barcelona do no want to rush their decision regarding the new head coach. One of the reasons is that they believe Luis Enrique might be available in the summer.

We don't really believe in this option, but if things go wrong with Paris Saint-Germain, why not? Let's take a look at how the treble-winning coach could line up at the 2024/25 Barca.

Option 1

Ter Stegen; Kounde, Araujo, Cubarsi, Balde; Gavi, Zubimendi / Aleix Garcia, Pedri; Yamal, Lewandowski, Ferran.

This could be the way if Barca don't make many new signings this summer. Mostly the best players in the current squad plus a defensive midfielder – Martin Zubimendi who made his Spain debut exactly under Lucho or Aleix Garcia who seems to be a more affordable option.

Although Ferran Torres no longer dates Luis Enrique's daughter, there is apparently no grudge between the two; Lucho used to get the best out of the Shark in his Spain days, so we expect him to be a starter too.

Option 2

Ter Stegen; Cancelo, Araujo, Cubarsi, Balde; Gavi, Pedri; Yamal, Olmo, Ferran; Lewandowski.

Who would be Luis Enrique's signature signing? We believe it's Dani Olmo – the man who was quite important for his national team and the one who's been continiously linked with Blaugrana. His current release clause at RB Leipzig reportedly stands at between €60m and €65m.

If Gavi agrees to play a defensive role (he did it quite well when Frenkie de Jong was injured), the three Spaniards could form a triangle in the midfield.

And why not include Joao Cancelo too? Lucho has been effectively using Achraf Hakimi this season, so he knows how to handle attack-minded right-backs.

How do you see the 2024/25 Barca under Luis Enrique?
