Pau Cubarsi will be expecting to get the same treatment as Lamine Yamal from Spain and receive a national team call-up before his 18th birthday.
The 17-year-old defender has been included in Spain's preliminary list for the upcoming international break and could get an invite, per Sport.
Spain head coach Luis De La Fuente reportedly rates Cubarsi highly after watching him a few times with Barca. De La Fuente is now considering handing the youngster his first senior cap.
Cubarsi has been quite a revelation in Barca's defence this season after making the breakthrough at the start of the year. He's so far played 10 senior games under Xavi and has barely put a foot wrong.
Yamal smashed records last year when he was handed his first senior Spain call-up at the age of 16. The youngster took the opportunity to score and became Spain's youngest goalscorer in history. Perhaps Cubarsi could follow in his footsteps.
