COUNTED: How many players Barca have on loan vs how many have a first-team chance

Barcelona sent out nine players on loan last summer. The list includes two wide forwards, three centrebacks, one midfielder and three full-backs.

A look at Barca loanees:

Centre-backs: Eric Garcia (Girona), Chadi Riad (Real Betis), Clement Lenglet (Aston Villa).

Full-backs: Sergino Dest (PSV), Julian Araujo (Las Palmas), Alex Valle (Levante).

Midfielder: Pablo Torre (Girona).

Wingers: Ansu Fati (Brighton), Estanis Pedrola (Sampdoria).

Only a few of the loanees listed can hope of making it into the first team next season. Eric Garcia is helping Girona fight for Champions League qualification next season. They're even above Barca in La Liga standings right now. However, there's a big chance Barca might end up selling him as they're well-covered in defence.

Pablo Torre has struggled to nail down a starting berth in that Girona side. One wonders how he could do it at Barca ahead of Pedri and Gavi.

Julian Araujo has been performing well at Las Palmas but can still be argued that he's not yet at Barca level. The same goes for Sergino Dest who has impressed at PSV.

Ansu Fati has only managed 4 goals in his 25 games for Brighton and it seems like he hasn't overcome his injury woes still.

While the aforementioned four loanees players have slim chances of getting included in the squad, we can't honestly say that any of them will be starting for the club next season. Not even their no. 10.
