Barcelona would like to extend Joao Cancelo's loan for another season, reports Marca's Luis Rojo.
The Catalans are unable to pay Manchester City's asking price of €25-30m. Things could change in the coming months, but there are no guarantees.
Both Barca and the player believe Man City could eventually agree on another loan move for the Portuguese. His current deal with the Citizens expires only in 2027.
Earlier, it was reported that Blaugrana would try to lower City's price tag for the 29-year-old. It seems like the club's financial state is too delicate even for that scenario.
Barca's plan for Joao Felix is the same – they would only be able to keep him if Atletico Madrid agree on one more loan spell.
Joao Cancelo has registered eight goal contributions in 32 appearances for Barcelona.
