Barcelona plan to go for Erling Haaland in 2026, reports Diario Sport's David Bernabeu.
This is the year Joan Laporta's presidential spell will be coming to an end. The chief would want to make a huge signing to stand a good chance ahead of the possible third term at the helm of Blaugrana.
2026 is also the year the new Camp Nou will be fully finished, so there is also some symbolic sense behind Haaland's potential arrival.
In the meeting with the Norwegian's agent, Deco has already made it clear they would only go for the striker in two years when Barca's finances will be much healthier.
Haaland's current deal with Manchester City expires in 2027. It is said that the Norwegian will be available for around €200m in the summer of 2025.
The 23-year-old has scored 29 goals and delivered six assists in 34 appearances for Man City this season.
