Barcelona have made their first move to keep Xavi as their coach next season by giving him another important appointment at the club.
Barcelona have named Xavi as their new ambassador of the Barca Foundation. According to TV3, this is a political move by the Joan Laporta administration as the position is already held by Alex Roca.
Barcelona plans a special ceremony where Xavi's new appointment will be officially announced.
Barca are doing everything to make Xavi feel like his a big part of the club and comfortable to see if he changes his mind by the end of the season.
However, Barca are not actively putting pressure on Xavi to make a U-turn just yet. But their unwillingness to contact a new manager is another signal to Xavi that they want him to stay.
