Lionel Messi left Barcelona in 2021 as the club couldn't offer him a new contract. The Argentine signed for PSG, stayed there for two seasons and now plies his trade with Inter Miami.
Losing Messi was traumatic for Barca and the club's fans — but it wasn't easy for Leo, either.
"The change from Barcelona to Paris was difficult because I was very well in Barcelona and I was thinking of staying there," Messi said on the Big Time podcast, as quoted by Diario AS.
"I wasn't ready to leave, everything was done very quickly, I had to rebuild my life from one day to the next. I met another league, another club, a new dressing room. It was a change that we weren't looking for and that's why it cost at first.
"I have always been treated very well in Barcelona, I'm grateful to them."
