Last weekend, we saw Joao Felix come off the bench to deliver a stupendous assist for Raphinha's match-winner against Las Palmas. Felix needed just three minutes on the pitch to work his magic after being subbed on in the 56th minute for Fermin.
Barca fans have seen Felix score clutch goals against his former team Atletico and in the Champions League against Porto.
It all makes one wonder if Felix is now performing better at Barca than he did during all those years at Atletico Madrid.
Judge for yourself using Felix's performance stat since he joined Atleti in 2019 to his current campaign at Barca:
2019/20: 9 goals, 3 assists, 36 games
2020/21: 10 goals, 6 assists, 40 games
2021/22: 10 goals, 6 assists, 35 games
2022/23: 5 goals, 1 assist, 20 games
2023/24 season at Barca: 9 goals 6 assists, 35 games*
Thus, Felix's best season at Atleti was 2021/22 where he delivered 16 goal contributions. He already has 15 at Barca this term which means he needs just two more to surpass his best tally with the Rojiblancos.
Given that Felix has been playing a reduced role at Barca since the turn of the year, it can be inferred that he isn't doing badly at all.
It's probably why Barca president Laporta says the club will do everything possible to keep him next season.
