Barcelona's sporting director Deco only plans to make two signings for the club in the coming transfer window, Diario Sport has revealed.
Deco's idea is to bring a new left-winger to the club and a defensive midfielder. Barca already have some targets on sight, including Girona's Aleix Garcia for the midfield role.
The Barca chief will also work to keep Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo at the club next season. Both players are on loan from Atletico Madrid and Manchester City respectively but they've shown the quality to play at Barca.
Thus, Deco's incoming transfer plan only borders on four players, two of whom are already at Barca.
Barcelona's financial restrictions are why the club cannot sign whoever they choose. It's probably why Xavi has opted to leave. Although with Barca now competing valiantly in the Champions League and La Liga, Xavi could change his mind and stay.
