Kylian Mbappe plans to do everything to ensure PSG knocks out Barcelona from the Champions League later tonight.
According to Diario AS, Mbappe is determined to eliminate Barca to keep his long-term dream of winning the Champions League with PSG alive.
Defeat to Barca will leave a bitter taste in the mouth of Mbappe above anyone else at PSG as he has been trying unsuccessfully to win the competition in his seven years since his move to Paris in 2017.
Mbappe was shackled in the first leg by a combination of Kounde, Araujo and Cubarsi as Barca battled to beat the Parisians 3-2. But PSG will be banking on their talisman showing up in the second leg if they are to qualify miraculously.
Mbappe has scored 39 goals and set up 9 more in his 41 games this season. But the goals are quickly drying up for the World Cup winner — he's scored just one goal in his last six games. The French press have been blaming PSG boss Luis Enrique for his experimental tactics leading to Mbappe's drought, although the player's head may already be elsewhere with the Champions League being the only thing keeping his mind at PSG.
In February, news broke that Mbappe had decided to leave PSG as a free agent, most likely for Real Madrid. It means this season is his last rodeo to win the Champions League as a PSG player.
