'Look at Man City': Xavi states what Barca must do after painful PSG defeat

's message to Barca after a painful defeat at the hands of PSG is clear – they must keep fighting to win the Champions League again no matter what it takes. 

"We have to keep trying. We were facing PSG. They've never won the Champions League and they've spent so much money on signings," Xavi said. 

"[Look at Man City], it took City 7 years to win it. Next year we'll compete again," Xavi added. 

Xavi is not far from the truth, Barcelona must come back stronger to compete for this title. 

However, Barca have to find a way to strengthen their team before doing that as has been the case with 

 every year. PSG are also setting the pace in this regard. 

Unfortunately, defeat to PSG now means Barca are likely to finish the season without winning anything.

nice one. I can feel ur pain as I'm pained too. but yesterday's has nothing to do with d coach. besides, man city has bottled worse lead in a very and most frustrating way. that was in 2022 against real Madrid. we need to work well. araujo should have left d guy and d guy would still have missed d goal bcos Ter Stegen was already out. it is what it is.

I knew someone was gonna mention 2022 but common it’s a against Madrid but  how many leads have we bottled for how many years now. And I don’t blame the coach but after the red I would sub off Pedri, his just coming from injuries and probably won’t play the full match. Raphinha will replace Pedri in midfield and play Lewi and Yamal upfront, since Yamal was subbed our attack was dead giving pSG defense full confidence to attack lewi doesn’t make runs or dribble all he does he backs defenders and they handled him nicely. Mendes would’ve been watchful of Yamal and incase a counter attack Yamal is our only attacker who can dribble and cause trouble. And Araujo made a terrible mistake.

Unfortunately we’re not Manchester city, we’re Barcelona 💙❤️ and it’s been too many hurtful memories for some years we’re always throwing away leads it’s now like a tradition for us. We really need a coach to change this narrative bcs it keeps happening and affecting the club image, the kind of leads we’ve thrown away in the past years not even  Manchester City will throw all that away. We need a change and we do now I don’t care who but if we gonna get eliminated let’s stop throwing away leads if we’ve to park the bus do that this is a qualification match. I don tire oo

Well said and not far from the truth. Our lack of money is one thing, but having players and especially midfielders who can't aggressively bridge the gap between the attack and defence in modern football is unthinkable. Valverde plays aggressively dirty, tackles, runs, passes well, but will always want to score, same as Tcheuomeni, Camavinga, Rodri, Declan Rice, Kross, Rakitic, Modric and many modern, Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Makiele, and many others. I don't understand why most teams have midfielders who can always play defensive midfield while we have struggled for this part of the field since Busquet's gradual decline till now. It's unthinkable for Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz and Emery Zaire to outplay Barca in the midfield with Pedri, De Jong with Gundogan. There's no single regular strength, and our opponents have figured this out for a while now. This explains the reason why even the middle table and struggling physical teams cause us huge problems. Man City or Arsenal would've exposed us more with such tired performance like this. We are over-rating a lot of our players. The earlier our board stops assisting direct rivals by selling them our players no matter what reasons, the better for us. Dembele did us dirty big time on both matches. Am worried that lack of play time may badly affect Roque's confidence if he doesn't start playing regularly soon. The season is already over he should receive regular game times and be able to start games often to regain his confidence, like when he arrived. We'll pick ourselves up and start again next season. Until then, I'll prefer for Xavi to start using Fermin more regularly as Pedri just recovered and allow Christensen and De Jong to compete for that DM role. It's tiring 😫

I hate Madrid but will compare because there is something they do well

I cannot always blame Xavi. Our players are different from Madrid. Madrid excels in UEFA because the players know how to play with their heart. It's not that they are amazing but they want to win more than anything and that's why they can be dirty. Compare the tackles Madrid midfielders make with ours. Almost one of their midfielders can tackle and can score. Almost everyone can play DM role. Valverde, Camavinga, Tchouameni, Modric, Kroos can play dirty or tackle with passion and the can win the team a match by scoring. Compare with ours, other than Gavi and Fermini, who can do that? Sometimes you do not need the most expensive players but ones with passion. How much have Curbasi, Fermine and Lamine costed us? They are doing better than some of the so called expensive signings. 

Some players are like the Barcelona Dembele. They are playing for the money and don't seem to care when we lose. Even elclassico is boring now because one team shows passion while the other only has FEW PLAYERS who understand what it means. Even when we beat Madrid by 4 or 5 goals, the passion in their players was evident and produced more tackles and fouls
