Why Barca have slapped €100m asking price for Ronald Araujo sale: explained

According to Sport, Barcelona will be asking for a €100m transfer fee for the potential sale of Ronald Araujo in the summer.

The main reason behind this is the club feels that getting this fee can help their own summer business. Particularly, they feel this financial boost can allow them to sign a new top-class midfielder or striker.

Araujo is currently the Barca defender who is likeliest to be sold next season because of the interest he’s receiving from elsewhere.

Man United and Bayern Munich have both expressed an interest to sign him. Now it remains to be seen if they’re ready to pay €100m for the deal.

Araujo’s agents are soon to meet Deco to talk about his situation. They are inclined towards an exit too after realizing the club’s needs.

Barca are happy with the depth of centre-backs they have apart from Araujo. Xavi has already assured Eric Garcia of a place in the squad next season and Inigo Martinez will also stay.

The Uruguayan defender has made 149 appearances for Barca in his career, scoring eight goals and providing four assists.
