Xavi is hopeful that Barcelona are able to tie down promising youngsters Hector Fort and Marc Guiu to new long-term contracts soon.
Speaking ahead of the Real Sociedad clash, he remarked: “We trust our own young players. I’m very happy with Pau Cubarsi signing new deal, it’s an excellent news. I hope that Hector Fort, Marc Guiu and the others can sign new contracts here..”
This comes soon after Barca announced a new three-year contract for young defender Pau Cubarsi. Fort, who has made five appearances for the Blaugrana this season, is on a contract that expires next year and the same is applicable for young forward Guiu too.
Barca are reportedly planning to hold talks with the representatives of these two players over a new deal as Xavi sees them as future regulars in the squad. He is likely to give them more chances next season too, which could convince the duo to tie themselves down to longer deals.
