"Well, I don't like it. I didn't like this situation. It has been unpleasant," Xavi said when asked about the gesture from the fans.
"I don't like it when they whistle against the coach, the president. I am grateful to the fans because they always sing for me.
"I am grateful and excited," Xavi added.
Many Barcelona fans who attended Barca's 3-0 win against Rayo showed unflinching support for Xavi. The gaffer has been rumoured to be close to getting the sack at the end of the season.
Barca fans are now turning on Barca president Joan Laporta — the man calling the shots and who could determine if Xavi stays or leaves.
