“The reality is I’m closer to leaving than staying,” Pep Guardiola said after winning his sixth Premier League title with Manchester City.
“We have talked with the club and my feeling is that I want to stay now. I will stay next season.
“But during the season we will talk, we will see," Pep adds.
Guardiola will continue at Man City next season as he already confirmed. However, Barca could get him in 2025 when his contract with Man City is due to expire.
From the looks of things, Pep will not extend his Man City contract beyond 2025. That would mean he only spends eight years at City.
Coincidentally, Xavi's contract ends in 2025. Hence, Barca have the opportunity to convince Guardiola to return to save the club just when Xavi steps down. That's if the current coach isn't fired in the coming days as reports suggest.
