Laporta's gesture for Xavi during Barca Femeni celebrations caught on camera

Joan Laporta has asked for an applause for Xavi during Barca Femeni's Champions League celebrations.

There were around 400 people at the ceremonial dinner, according to Victor Navarro. Clearly, Laporta wants to show he still respects Xavi and there is no tension between him and the Barca boss. Is it really so, though?

Laporta is being criticised by many for the way he has treated Xavi lately. The president opted for sacking the Barca legend just a month after successfully convincing him to stay.

Many fans remind Laporta of the way he treated some other legends like Leo Messi and Ronald Koeman. In all cases, Joan assures his decisions are only taken to benefit the club's future.
