The takeover of Premier League side Newcastle United by a Saudi Arabia-backed consortium is now official.
The development has lead to controversy amid the Gulf kingdom's human rights violations and intolerance of same-sex relationships.
However, Newcastle's LGBTQ+ fans group believe that it is unfair to force ordinary football fans to answer for the things they have no control fans.
Group's chair Ian Pearson-Brown told the BBC: "It's difficult to see where the value is in helping LGBT people in Saudi Arabia by attacking football fans here who just want to go to a game and sit in an environment where they feel safe to be their authentic selves."
