Former Real Madrid midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart had a hilarious reaction to Timo Werner being compared to Robin van Persie after scoring two goals in Chelsea’s 3-3 draw against Zenit.
While doing his punditry for ZSelect, the show’s host made the comparison, to which Van der Vaart replied: “If you compare Werner with Van Persie one more time, I will walk away now.”
Werner was actually pretty impressive during Chelsea’s draw on Wednesday, scoring two goals and also getting an assist!
However, Van der Vaart has developed the reputation for being a brutally honest critic who doesn’t mince words.
He’s also lambasted Werner in the past, comparing him to a ‘blind horse and criticizing his goalscoring issues.
