Daniel Sturridge responds to accusations of failing to pay reward for his lost dog

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has been legally ordered to pay a €30,000 reward to the person who helped him recover his lost dog in 2019.

The person who helped recover the dog, musician Killa Fame claimed that Sturridge didn’t pay him for finding his dog and took the case to court – which he won after 2 years and forced the striker to pay the €30,000.

Responding to accusations that he refused to pay the sum, Sturridge tweeted: “Just to let you know the truth on xmas!

“I met a young boy who found my dog and paid him a reward which he was delighted with as was I to get my dog back because he was stolen. I took photos with him and we have videos and audio of everything that happened when Lucci was returned.

“On Christmas Day to have to relive the events of a robbery is shameful. Other people are trying to benefit for their own personal gain. Thank you to the young boy once again. This was 2 1/2 years ago and a crazy 24hrs. I’m very grateful lucci is back with our family. Love to all.”

Sturridge is currently playing in the Australian A-League for Perth Glory and has only made 1 appearance so far this season.
