Manuel Neuer plays as a defensive midfielder in Bundesliga game vs Union Berlin, makes a crazy save

Manuel Neuer got bored of not being tested enough in Bayern Munich’s 4-0 win over Union Berlin on Saturday, so he decided to play like an outfielder.

In the second half, with Bayern leading the game 4-0, the German goalkeeper came to his teammate's aid by making himself available for a backpass.

He charged out of his box to play the ball to pass the ball back to defender Tanguy Nianzou, before moving far into the right wing to make himself available for another pass.

But, Neuer’s pass was under-hit and intercepted, leaving him in a vulnerable position with his goal completely exposed.

The Bayern goalkeeper made a huge leap to make a brilliant save from a shot on goal, preserving his clean sheet in the process.

Even after that scare, the German kept going forward and helping his teammates out in building moves from the back.

Neuer also made history after the win, becoming the player with the most wins in Bundesliga history.
