£51m release clause is just tip of iceberg: actual cost of Erling Haaland's transfer to Man City revealed

Manchester City have officially confirmed an agreement to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund on July 1.

However, the Premier League giants will have to spend much more than just £51 million on triggering the striker's release clause.

According to transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio, the actual package to bring the 21-year-old to the Etihad will cost Man City over £250 million.

An annual salary of £25 million on a five-year contract would bump up the price while Haaland's representatives are also set to receive an additional £58 million.
