Messi becomes first footballer in history to have 1100 goal contributions

Lionel Messi achieved an impressive record after scoring 5 goals in Argentina’s 5-0 win over Estonia on Sunday.

In doing so, the Argentine forward became the first-ever footballer to have 1100 goal contributions in his career.

Messi has scored 769 goals and registered 331 assists across domestic as well as international level in his career.

That comes down to around 61 goal contributions per year since his professional career began in 2004, which is an absurd stat on its own.

Messi is lazer-focused on winning the Qatar World Cup later this year as he realizes it could be his final chance to win the big gold.
