Zidane names 4 Real Madrid players he's proud to have coached - didn't mention Modric

When discussing the players he's had the pleasure of coaching at Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane told Real France: "When I arrived [at Real Madrid] I was happy to be able to coach Kroos.

"Of course, I can say that I coached [Sergio] Ramos, Cristiano [Ronaldo] and [Gareth] Bale and also Toni Kroos."

Bale played a crucial role in Real's victory in the 2016 Champions League during Zidane's first season as manager. However, he faced many injuries and missed a significant part of the following season.

Despite scoring two goals in the 2018 final against Liverpool, Bale was unable to regain his position as a preferred starter under Zidane.

Here's what Zidane said about this: "There will always be things that happen. Now he's making a change, all we can do is wish him the best... These things happen in football, but I've always said he was a spectacular player."
