Speaking about Paris Saint-Germain’s disappointment at the Champions League this season, as they were knocked out by Bayern Munich in the Round of 16, Gianluigi Donnarumma said: “Beyond the collective strength, we would have needed a little more luck.
“Our first knockout match was a final before the hour. It was 50/50. All scenarios were possible. We could have hurt them more, there are regrets, unfortunately, it happened like that.
“The Champions League is for one team every year and all the teams are starving. In any case, Paris deserves to win it. We want to do everything to win it next year.”
PSG have been desperately pushing for a Champions League title for the last decade and splurged billions into building a team strong enough to finally achieve that – signing players like Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Donnarumma himself!
The Parisians will take another aim to breaking their European curse next season, but look set to win another Ligue 1 title soon.
