Four PSG players face a ban for anti-gay chants

As reported by L'Equipe, the Ligue de Football Professionnel confirmed that four Paris Saint-Germain players are facing a one-match ban due to their involvement in homophobic chants. The four players in the spotlight are Randal Kolo Muani, Ousmane Dembele, Achraf Hakimi, and Layvin Kurzawa.

During a recent Ligue 1 game against Marseille at the Parc des Princes, PSG fans were heard using anti-gay chants.

Some PSG players were part of this too. As a result, the LFP has given them one-match suspensions starting on October 10. Plus, they've closed the Auteuil stand at the Parc des Princes for two games.

Here's the official statement from PSG: "The club regrets that the Disciplinary Commission has opted for an excessive and collective measure, likely to undermine the work of dialogue and prevention undertaken by the Club with associations, institutions and fans."

The players also apologised on social media: "We're well aware of the impact of our gestures and words on the public, especially the younger ones who dream of watching a soccer match."

"We sincerely regret the words we should not have spoken and wish to apologise. In the future, we will do our utmost to be even more exemplary."
