Joleon Lescott reveals his pick for 'the best player England have produced'

Despite his tender years, Phil Foden has already accumulated 16 major trophies in his time at Man City. Former Man City and England star Lescott, a special guest on Matchday Live, believes there's no telling how much more Foden can achieve.

Lescott said via Mancity.com: "In regard to Phil contributing that shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone because I think he has taken the mantle of Kevin De Bruyne being out on his shoulders and just tried to impact every game."

"He is already on the path to becoming a club legend and the longevity of his career is going to allow that regardless of what else he goes on to win. I think there is a bigger question, does he go on to become England’s best player?"

"He can go on to become arguably the most decorated player England has ever produced with the trophies he has now and what he can go on to potentially win. I think there is a real question of can he go onto become the best ever player England have produced."

"The only thing against him is that he can play well in so many positions we may not recognise the best of him (in one recognised role). Every other great has only played one position but in terms of how important Phil is to Man City there is no question."

Phil Foden scored 69 goals and made 47 assists across 245 appearances for his club. At this young age, Phil has already proved to be one of the best players in Manchester City.
