'Don't do that': Anthony Gordon had a painful interaction with physio after going down with a knee injury

In the recent Premier League match between Newcastle and Chelsea, Anthony Gordon’s injury became a major talking point. The discomfort he experienced during a physio check-up caused quite a stir among the spectators.

He fell to the ground clutching his left knee just after Jackson’s opening goal in the sixth minute, signalling for medical assistance.

The initial examination by the physio seemed a bit too harsh for Gordon. As he leaned back on the pitch, the physio began to inspect the damage by bending his leg.

However, as his heel and thigh came closer together, Gordon reacted sharply, indicating his discomfort and seemingly telling the physio: "Don’t do that."

Sadly, the 23-year-old’s game ended there. Howe expressed his concern that the injury could be serious.

Quoted by the Daily Mail, Howe said: "I can't really add too much to it other than the fact it was a knee injury. It was strange. There was no mechanism or moment when he felt it, it was just there in the game, according to Anthony at half-time and he was in quite a bit of pain."

"We don't quite know how bad that is. We fear it's not looking too good, he's in a lot of pain, but it's early days."
