'It’s the same every week, you c**t': Paul Tierney reveals what Forest’s Steven Reid said to him after Liverpool defeat

Nottingham Forest's first-team coach Steven Reid has faced disciplinary action from the FA following an incident involving referee Paul Tierney during their recent match against Liverpool.

Tierney reported that Reid directed abusive language towards him, resulting in the coach being shown a red card.

Tierney said: "He asked me about a decision and I said to him that I will speak to him inside and not outside on the field of play. He then continued to question me and I repeated that I would speak to him inside,” Tierney said in his statement."

"He then said, ‘It’s the same every week, you c**t’. I showed him the red card and then he said, ‘I worked with you f***ing lot every f***ing week last season. It’s the same every f***ing week you c**t’."

"He then continued to use the word f**k and called me a c**t on at least one more occasion (making that a minimum of three in total) as we were making our way off the field of play."

The controversy arose when Tierney let Liverpool restart the game, even though the home team had control of the ball in a dangerous attacking position before the action was stopped because of a head injury to the Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate.

Tierney's statement was supported by both assistant referees and the independent panel agreed with them. Reid later apologised for his actions. He was fined and also got a two-match touchline ban.
