Gareth Bale lives his best life after retirement: Luxury holidays, modelling career and golf with the stars

Since retiring, the former Real Madrid and Wales player Gareth Bale has been spending a lot of time playing golf, as expected. However, he's also been showing up at unexpected events, living his best life.

Bar owner

The famous forward launched his second golf-themed bar, called Par 59, in Bristol at the end of 2022. This came after the triumph of his first bar in Cardiff's city centre, which some say looks a bit like a strip club inside.

LAFC

In March 2023, Bale went back to Los Angeles to celebrate winning the MLS Cup the year before. He got a championship ring, which was his final football prize. Bale led LAFC to a thrilling win in the final, scoring a crucial goal with a header that led to penalties.

Ryder Cup and golf with stars

Last September, Bale joined forces with tennis legend Novak Djokovic to win the celebrity match at the Ryder Cup. They were part of a team led by Colin Montgomerie and beat Ferrari F1 driver Carlos Sainz's team.

In early October, Bale was also seen playing golf at the Alfred Dunhill Championship in St Andrews. He kicked off the celebrity pro-am with a birdie, playing against stars like Bill Murray, Andy Garcia, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Family time

Apart from his sports career, Wales' top goalscorer has enjoyed spending time with his family. He married his childhood sweetheart, Emma Rhys-Jones, in 2019 on the small Spanish island of Tagomago, with only 60 guests at the private ceremony.

They have four children together: Alba Violet, born in 2012, Nava Valentina in 2016, Axel Charles in May 2018, and Xander Frank Bale, born in July 2021.

Modelling

It seems like Bale isn't afraid to try something new. Here's his try at being a fashion model. The Welshman was asked by the new head designer of a British luxury brand, Daniel Lee, to make a surprise appearance at London Fashion Week in February this year.

Courtside

It seems like Bale had a great time during his short stay in LA. He came back to watch the Lakers play against the Golden State Warriors. After the game, he met up with the legendary point guard Stephen Curry and even got a signed jersey from him.
