Two Man City players nominated for Gamechanger award

Stefan Ortega and Kevin De Bruyne have been nominated for the Premier League’s Castrol Gamechanger award. This annual prize is given to a player who made a significant impact in a single game. This year, six players are nominated and Manchester City has two candidates.

Kevin De Bruyne made a remarkable return to action against Newcastle last January. After being sidelined for nearly five months due to a hamstring operation, De Bruyne came on with City trailing 2-1.

Within five minutes, he scored to make it 2-2. In stoppage time, he assisted Oscar Bobb for the winning goal, securing all three points for City.

Stefan Ortega is also nominated for his performance against Tottenham. Replacing the injured Ederson in the 70th minute, Ortega made three crucial saves. The most important came in the 86th minute when he stopped Son Heung-min's low shot with his outstretched right leg, preserving the win for City.
