Is Gvardiol at fault for Garnacho's goal? Analysed

The first half of the Man City vs Man United clash was quite unexpected. Two goals from Ten Hag's team made City look absolutely destroyed.

It all started with Alejandro Garnacho's goal that happened after mistake. But who is at fault for this goal, Josko Gvardiol or Stefan Ortega? The short answer - both.

After the pass on Garnacho, the ball was still in the air, so Ortega could see that Gvardiol and Garnacho were battling for position.

It is not clear why the Man City keeper would choose to leave his goal but the consequence of such action was definitely lethal.

Gvardiol managed to win the position after a little push but then made an unnecessary pass that Ortega couldn't react to.

Garnacho then put the ball in the empty net.

Could Gvardiol just leave the ball for Ortega or put it on his feet? He probably could. So he is kinda at fault too.

The other problem is the communication between both players. Perhaps Ortega didn't say a word to his defender and Guardiola didn't know the position of his partner. If that's the truth, Gvardiol couldn't do much about it.
