Coutinho close to Brazilian league return
Former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho is close to returning to his boyhood club Vasco da Gama, Fabrizio Romano reports.
He has already agreed on personal terms but still needs to terminate his contract with Aston Villa after spending the last season on loan at Qatari side Al Duhail.
Liverpool informed of Kingsley Coman availability
According to HITC, Liverpool have been among the clubs informed about the availability of Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.
Intermediaries have got in touch with other clubs after Bayern agreed the deal to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace. It's unclear if Liverpool will act on this information.
Feyenoord forward responds to Liverpool links
Feyenoord forward Igor Paixao has been linked with a move to Liverpool. Speaking to Globo Esporte (h/t Liverpool Echo), the Brazilian said: "I only see this on social media. (The fans) don't want me to leave Feyenoord, but it doesn't depend on me. Together with my agents and the board of directors we will decide the best path to follow.
"I’m listening and watching on social media. A lot of people are always tagging me and asking: are you going to Liverpool? I don’t know anything, I’m just waiting. But Dutch football is really cool. The intensity is what makes it different."
Paixao worked with Arne Slot at Feyenoord. Asked about the Dutchman, he added: "He also helped me when I arrived, in my development, and I felt like I was helping him. It's good that everything worked out. He did an exceptional job with our squad. I just have to thank him and wish him success at Liverpool. He will be missed, but he has to keep working."
Saka makes curious Trent claim
While on his media duties with England, Bukayo Saka was asked to name a teammate he thinks would be a manager in the future.
“Do you know who’s on my mind? Trent,” replied the Arsenal forward. “I think he could be a gaffer you know. He loves the game. I could see it, potentially.”
