Most Decorated English Coaches Still Active

English coaches have been at the forefront of competing with some of the best managers for the top jobs in Europe. With the era of managers like Alex Fergusson ending years ago, active ones are carrying the torch, especially in the EPL. Also, we’ll continue seeing the development of new-generation managers, considering the level of the league.

Gareth Southgate - England national team 

The three lions' head coach is one of the famous football managers who has been the top manager of the England national team since 2016. Eddie Howe - Newcastle United

Edward John Frank Howe, the head coach of Newcastle United, who is currently fifth in the English Premier league table, is also among the great managers in England. The former Liverpool player is a legend at Anfield, where he spent much of his footballing career. The midfield maestro is known to be one of the best football midfielders ever to play football, ranked with the likes of Lampard and Xavi. 

After retiring, he joined a coaching career and has managed several football clubs. He worked at Aston Villa football club lately before being sacked after a run of unpleasant results. However, before his job at Villa, he coached Celtic FC, where he won the Scottish premiership.

Frank Lampard

Lampard is another pure-class footballer whose ability can never be doubted. Frank Lampard is a familiar name to all English football lovers, especially Chelsea fans. He is one of their best players. 

To the delight of his club’s fans, Frank Lampard returned to this club as a manager, where he was part of developing young players like Reece James and Mason Mount. His next job was at Everton, where he recently got sacked, and Sean Dyche was appointed.
