Meet Marcus Radishford: Man United forward makes cameo appearance in Aldi Christmas ad

 has been working with Aldi to provide over 1.8 million meals to children over Christmas. 

Now, he's taken part in the retailer's Christmas ad as he lent his voice to an animated radish named - you guessed it - Marcus Radishford.

In fact, his involvement is limited to one phrase as he wishes merry Christmas to Kevin the Carrot (his character appears after 0:30 on the video below):

Previously, Rashford explained why he took part in the campaign: "As a family, we relied on the local food bank to get our Christmas dinner.

"To this day, I remember queuing outside that building with mum; mum feeling embarrassed that she might be recognised.

"It is with that in mind that I’m delighted to lend my support to the Aldi campaign."

'I’m trying to give children the things I didn’t have': Marcus Rashford reacts to receiving MBE

 has officially received his MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle this Tuesday. 

The honour was bestowed upon him by Prince William while Rashy's mum Melanie proudly looked on. 

After receiving the MBE, the 24-year-old said: "It seems like there’s a lot going on but for me to put it in the simplest way – I’m trying to give children the things I didn’t have when I was a kid. 

"If I did have, I would have been much better off and had many more options in my life.

"I’m just giving them the opportunity and I think they deserve the opportunity what child doesn’t. For me, it’s a punishment for them not to be getting things like meals or supplies of books."

 winger continued: "And if we can all come together to make these small change – they are small changes but they become big changes once you see the rewards of it – I see a generation that’s coming after me as a very special generation. 

"They just need a bit of guidance and pointing in the right direction and what I’m doing is giving them that." 

Rashford has been relentless in his admirable campaign to tackle child food poverty in the UK. 

 during the coronavirus pandemic last year and teamed up with several organisations to ensure kids don't go to bed on an empty stomach.

 has been fighting to feed vulnerable school children for over a year now.

But his program seems to be working wonders as some ‘before and after’ pictures suggest.

A writer posted a couple of photos on Twitter that shows the difference in quality (and quantity) of food vulnerable children are getting.

While they barely got some food and basic stuff last year, Rashford’s campaign has ensured more nutritious food for the school children.

Nowadays, they’re getting more vegetables, cold cuts, breakfast items and a lot more food.

 forward has even received the MBE for his incredible charity work but has promised to continue helping the vulnerable children even as things normalize.
