Speaking to Sky Sports after Sunday's game, 

"They won it on passion, desire, hunger, attitude, and they had higher motivation than us and that can't be possible.

"I feel that I say the same things every time we lose. It's not acceptable. And at 

Man United's suffered a major setback in the 2022/23

 top four race on Sunday, losing 2–0 against Newcastle at St James' Park.

The Red Devils are now fourth in the top-flight table, one point behind

"If you had said at the start of the season, after those first few games, this is where Manchester United would be, you would snap their hand off," Neville told

"But there are emerging signs away from home, in the big games, when you really have to turn up and show that spirit, that fight, that courage to play, and have the quality to play, there is more evidence that they are not good enough in these type of matches.

"They can still go on to have a good season. Manchester United have responded many times. But they have been well beaten today, let us be clear.

"They play Brentford and Everton in the next week. If they get six points, they look like they are in a great position again.

"But they are not fooling anyone in terms of the bigger picture of where they need to go. 

 will know that they need to make sure they continue to improve but there are worrying signs in these big matches away from home.

"They just do not turn up. They were never in that game today. You are thinking they are going to improve in the second half but they did not. They were really poor in the second half as well as the first half. They deserved to get beaten."

Well said Luke, although I think ETH got it wrong yesterday, I prefer he learns now than next season. All I need is for him to go for top 4 and Europa just to be safe but champions league football is a must for united next yr.

Football has to be played with passion and desire and united have lacked that in the last 3 games and that ain't good enough for our great supporters after getting thumped by Liverpool they should have given there all in the remaining games not just going through the motions  average teams are making us look like mugs it's not good enough

He just speaks like this he was with them as well he said this 6th time over the years we have a biggest problem in midfield need 2 top players in there who can control the tempo control the game  we need to get rid of mactonmy  Fred I’m not convinced by sebetzer  either yet  we are missing Casemiro & Ericsson  in the midfield manager is happy with waghourst  but I’m not convinced by him can’t control the ball can’t head it  not for us  need a top  striker with power & pace  need a centre back as well  otherwise we can’t compete with the best team  when we play with better teams we struggle badly we lack consistency confidence we lose to them manager make so odd choices  his mind game was the motivation for Newcastle they show passion desire hunger  but we where lacklustre  like dad man walking  🚶‍♂️ I’m so surprised why he didn’t change mactonmey & waghourst
