Casemiro, Varane among Man United players facing uncertain futures (reliability: 4 stars)

According to the Daily Mail, several Manchester United under-performers are facing uncertain futures as Sir Jim Ratcliffe's new era comes close to commencing.

The INEOS founder hopes to address our poor recruitment over the years. And to do that, he first wants to sell those who are not contributing enough.

On top of his list are Raphael Varane and Casemiro - the pair who cost a combined £112 million for Man United.

Both players did well in their first season but injuries have troubled Varane to a point where Harry Maguire reclaimed his starting spot.

The Daily Mail understands Varane is not happy about a limited role and he 'clashed' with Ten Hag when the latter opted to start Jonny Evans in the Manchester derby alongside Maguire.

As for Casemiro, he's been woeful in midfield this season, failing to stop attacks or impose himself on opponents like he used to.

Both players are in their 30s and question marks were reportedly raised about handing them long-term contracts at the time.

That has come to bite back the Red Devils now as both players may be sold in January - provided they find takers.
